I am 40 years old and I might have worked out how my health was still deteriorating despite having made all the above positive moves above one by one over the last 7 years.

What is a skinny fat man?

The purpose of this blog is to document my recovery from a 40 year old bloke heading for  chronic ill health or even premature death to  fit and healthy long life ahead .

I am a skinny fat man. When people hear I have a fat issue, the responses are usually, “but you don’t look fat” or “What are you trying to lose weight for”. I am about 5’10 and  skinny except for my belly. That is where my body dumps the fat that causes all the problems, it is almost like it has a mind of its own

Scientifically, it does have a process of its own, for sure and I will explore this as we go. Commonly known as a ‘beer belly’ the medical term is:

hypertriglyceridemic waist

So, there you go, next time someone accuses you of having a beer belly, they know nothing unless they can pronounce this without looking at it written. Here is one of many sites that define the term hypertriglyceridemic waist

This blog is meant to be a collection of observations whilst cutting one ingredient from my diet, Fructose!

Fructose makes up approximately 50% of your average table sugar. As you can imagine it is in a lot of foods but I am determined to test the theory and will go almost fructose free for 8 weeks, then retest my bloods and present the evidence here.

NB) I do not intend to reinvent the wheel so to speak, so if there is good evidence or commentary from others on a similar discovery I will acknowledge them here. If you have experience or knowledge, either personally or through your studies, then please contribute
